How to Use
- Set the vehicle into tire pressure training mode: insert the key, press the parking brake, turn the key from OFF to ON three times, press the parking brake again, turn the key OFF, then from OFF to ON three more times. Three consecutive hazard alarm beeps confirm training mode is active.
- Starting at the left front tire, hold the tool's antenna upward against the sidewall near the valve stem. Press and release the start button and wait for the chirp — one chirp confirms the sensor has been read.
- When the right front turn signal lights up, repeat step 2 at: Right Front → Right Rear → Left Rear.
- After the left rear sensor is read and the speaker chirps twice, the process is complete and the body control module exits read mode automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What vehicles is the EL50449 TPMS Activation Tool compatible with?
A: This TPMS reset tool is compatible with a wide range of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from approximately 2006 to 2016, including the F-150, Mustang, Explorer, Escape, Focus, Fusion, Lincoln MKX, Navigator, Mercury Mariner, and many more. Please refer to the full compatibility list above before purchasing.
Q: Does the EL50449 TPMS tool require batteries?
A: Yes, the tool requires batteries to operate, but they are not included in the package. Please check the tool's battery compartment for the required battery type before use.
Q: How do I know if a TPMS sensor has been successfully read?
A: The tool provides clear audio feedback — a chirp sound confirms that each sensor has been successfully read. After all four sensors are scanned, two chirps signal that the process is complete and the vehicle's body control module has exited read mode automatically.
Q: Can this TPMS activation tool be used without an OBD2 port connection?
A: Yes. This tool activates and reads TPMS sensors directly from the tire sidewall by holding the antenna near the valve stem. The vehicle's OBD2 system is engaged through the standard tire pressure training mode procedure — no direct OBD2 port cable connection is required.
